RedVan Solution specializes in the condition management of gilts and sows. Currently, this is based on the gilt/sow’s weight. In the near future, we will use a combination of AI and vision technology for this.
In principle, we can use data from any scale. The only requirement is that the weight data is available online. This guarantees a fully automated process. Unfortunately, the choice of these types of scales is not only very limited but often also expensive. That’s why we developed the VMS together with our sister company Blueforce. The VMS has a weighing function and is camera-ready for vision technology.
To interpret weight or condition, it’s important to relate it to other factors or characteristics of the sow. For example, consider age, breed, gestation stage, nutritional status, or general health. A 200 kg sow can be healthy, but also overweight or underweight, depending on her specific situation. Therefore, it’s important to consider weight in combination with other relevant information.
Once all that has been determined, the data still needs to be linked to the correct feed plan. Then, that feed plan needs to be entered into the ESF system, the computer-controlled feeding system. And preferably every week.
That’s quite a task.
For this, we’ve developed an AI Agent that performs all the above-mentioned actions fully automatically.
So you can be sure that all sows are on the correct feed plan and that they are all guided towards their optimal weight.
