By cleaning grains, we’re moving from good to even better quality. Cleaning is a three-step process: clean blowing, coarse sieving, and fine sieving. Approximately 1-3% of “clean” grain is sieved out of each batch; primarily chaff/husks, weed seeds, straw, and sand/dust. For the cleaned grain, it increases concentration and reduces inorganic matter (ash) and mycotoxins. This reduces the burden and thus facilitates digestion in highly productive and young animals. We strongly believe in the added value of this process. It improves gut health, feed conversion, and growth for piglets; ensures a smooth transition for lactating sows, vital piglets, and good milk production for young gilts; and promotes healthy development, improved condition, and a higher live birth rate at the first litter for gilts.
