Lung checks at the slaughter line provide valuable information about the lung health of fattening pigs. That is why Ceva Santé Animale developed the Ceva Lung Program (CLP), an application for lung scoring of slaughter pigs. The CLP method allows to determine the presence, number of cases and the impact of possible infections with Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (M. hyo) and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App).
The CLP application is used during lung screening in the slaughterhouse. After the CLP test, the veterinarian and the pig farmer receive a report in which a number of parameters are listed that can provide insight to which extent M. hyo and App infections are under control.
Lung research with the Ceva Lung Program is offered by Ceva as a service to veterinarians and pig farmers who want to improve lung health on their pig farms.
If you’re interested in this service, please contact Ceva or your herd veterinarian.
