Energy Transition in Agriculture
On the first day of the Dutch Pork & Poultry Expo, moderator Jan Vullings (Misset Uitgeverij) spoke with Kees van Voorst (Kiwatt) and Dirk van Lierop (Energie+dak) about smart energy choices for the agricultural sector. Kees van Voorst, account manager at Kiwatt, specializes in energy storage. He helps farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs manage their energy more efficiently by storing self-generated solar power. With battery systems, businesses can smooth out peaks in energy consumption and become less dependent on the energy grid, contributing to sustainability. Dirk van Lierop from Energie+dak discussed how farmers can trade sustainable energy on the imbalance market and the opportunities available in solar panels, batteries, and energy management.
Exhibitors Farm of the Future
Discover all the ins and outs of the Farm of the Future during a visit to RMV. Stop by Bio-Line, where they can tell you everything about biogas — gas produced through the digestion of manure, green waste, or other organic materials. Biogas is the result of the collaboration between people, animals, and innovation. It’s the outcome of circular agriculture. Also, visit BestWatt, which offers a complete solution for sustainable energy for (agricultural) businesses: a combination of wind energy, solar energy, and storage.
Curious about other income sources within the dairy sector? Visit the Multifunctional Agriculture Square during RMV Hardenberg and RMV Gorinchem and get inspired by suppliers and other (former) dairy farmers who have gone before you.
Looking for advice on the changes coming your way as a dairy farmer in these special and uncertain times? Visit the Rabobank stand during RMV. Rabobank advisors are happy to talk with you and help you think through the difficult but important choices dairy farmers face.
LTO, the entrepreneurs’ organization for Dutch farmers and growers, will also be present at RMV and is eager to share their vision of the sector’s future. So mark RMV in your calendar and discover what your farm could look like in 2030.

3-in-1 Source Approach for Healthier Pigs and a Better Environment with Jean Reusens
The StalleBalle are water-filled balls that float on slurry in manure pits. They reduce the emission surface area and decrease ammonia emissions by 29%, contributing to a better barn climate and less odor nuisance. The balls are easy to install and require little maintenance. During the Dutch Pork & Poultry Expo, Jean Reusens, Marketing Manager at StalleBalle, spoke at the Knowledge and Demo Square. He discussed sustainable solutions such as StalleBalle and Evapo Control, which combat air and water pollution. StalleBalle is recognized as a PAS measure and qualifies for VLIF support in Flanders. The technology offers an efficient and sustainable way to reduce the environmental impact of livestock farming.
Natural Daylight
At the dairy farm of Hendrikus van de Lageweg in Ureterp, near a Natura2000 area, we see how Kopros helps reduce ammonia emissions.
This microbiological solution not only contributes to emission reduction but also improves animal health, increases soil fertility, and lowers feed costs.
Discover in this video how Hendrikus gets the most out of his farm with Kopros, without expensive barn modifications
National Dairy Congress
Ahead of the first day of the RMV Gorinchem fair, the second edition of the National Dairy Congress took place in collaboration with LTO and Nieuwe Oogst. Future-oriented entrepreneurship is more important than ever in dairy farming.
It starts with understanding the international dairy market and the latest policy developments. What does this mean for the position of dairy farmers? Under the leadership of Esther de Snoo, editor-in-chief of Nieuwe Oogst, the latest market developments and trends were discussed.
